BRUNO MAGLI
Bruno Magli founded his company in Bologna in 1936, but it became well known only in the 1950s, when ‘Made in Italy’ became synonymous with quality and style. In the late 1960s Morris Magli, Bruno’s nephew, became president and his wife, Rita, took over the creative direction. Rita has been credited with steering the company onto a more modern course and instigating Magli’s association with designer Andrea Pfister. The company no longer belongs to the Magli family, but in 2005 it opened a museum of Bruno Magli;s historical designs.
